Mt Hood Vacation Rentals' New Office at 67898 E Highway 26, Welches, Oregon

After spending a successful 18+ years in the office on Welches Road (over 20 years in business!), Betsy LaBarge, owner of Mt Hood Vacation Rentals, found a spacious and charming building on Highway 26 to be the new home for Mt Hood Vacation Rentals. With pride of ownership comes an open and welcome front office, a landscaped yard, incredible visibility from the highway, room to grow (read: increase our inventory of vacation homes) and a warm and private office space for Betsy (seriously, there’s a fireplace in there!).

Cari and Emily S. in the front office look forward to greeting guests into the bright and inviting space, which features a comfy seating area flanked by well-loved plants. Housekeepers Dani and Emily R. have easier access to their own area, with double doors and more room for linens and supplies, a utility sink, and a prep table. Coby, our maintenance technician, appreciates having his own loading zone and storing all of his supplies in one accessible and well-organized area. Paul is eager to do some landscaping once summer hits.

Thanks to Cari for organizing the big move, and thanks to the rest of the crew for all your heavy lifting, sorting, packing and unpacking. Not only are we moved, we are spring-cleaned and de-cluttered! Just in time for the busy season of summer to start. Bring it on.

Mt Hood Vacation Rentals will have a New Home Soon

Very exciting news for us.  Paul and Betsy just closed on the purchase of the Heart of the Mountain Building at 67898 Hwy 26 in Welches.  We have wanted to own a building to house Mt Hood Vacation Rentals for some time, so when this property came onto the market last May, we decided to take a closer look.

Because the property was involved in a foreclosure and bankruptcy proceeding, this was not your usual real estate deal.  It took us 5 months to get here.

Now we have some county permitting hurdles to get over which will get us into the renovations right about the time La Nina's promised snow arrives to the mountain.  Thankfully most of the work is on the interior.  We will work on cleaning up the yard in the next few weeks.



This is the view of the building from Highway 26.  We won't be painting soon, but eventually hope to update the color to something a bit more subtle, like Betsy's favorite sage green.



This will be our new front office.  This was the dining room for the Backyard Bistro Restaurant.

We will need to take out a couple of walls, but this will become our linen room.  It even has double 6-foot doors to the outside for laundry delivery.  Mt Hood Cleaners is going to like that.

This will be our conference room/lunch room.  Note there is a fireplace in the corner.



This space will be divided into 2 offices, one for Betsy and one for the bookkeeper.
